Nettle is rich in natural vitamins and minerals. Among other things , nettle includes silicon, iron, calcium, potassium, sulfur, magnesium, manganese , zinc , chromium , amino acids and vitamin C , B2 , B3, B5 , K1 and flavonoids and chlorophyll . Nettles includes about 15 % carbohydrates , 5,5 % protein , 0,6 % fat and 2,3 % of mineral salts. Nettle also contains plenty of good fibers for the bowel system.
Nettle is well suited for joints and tendons and is used for the treatment of mentioned disabilities, together with rosehips. Nettle is suitable for horses especially during spring as a vitamin supplement. Nettle is helpful in disorders such as anemia, peripheral vascular disease, as well as blood circulation disorders, arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Nettle increases urine output, lowers blood pressure and blood sugar, promotes gastrointestinal motility, and also facilitates the animal during allergic reactions.
Dosage:
horse: 0,5 to 3 tablespoons a day
Dogs: 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon a day.
It is recommended to start with a small dose to avoid hypersensitivity reactions.
